The adult’s parade is one of the biggest events of St. Thomas Carnival. It takes place in Charlotte Amalie along Main Street and includes thousands of participants and thousands of viewers that line the parade route. Come see mocko jumbies, carnival royalty, listen to bands play while colorfully costumed troupes dance along. Some troupes include hundreds of masqueraders, wearing from the smallest costumes of bikinis with beads to elaborate, large costumes that stretch the width of the parade route. The parade route starts at the Western Cemetery and runs along Main Street to the Lionel Robert Stadium.(Note: The parade usually runs about 7 to 8 hours with the largest troupes performing towards the middle and end. While it starts at 10am that is at Western Cemetary, it takes a little bit for the troupes to make their way up the parade route.)
